IDE Plugin Licence (Frutebox Force)

Effective 2026-08-24

Draft for legal review — bracketed placeholders are pending counsel finalisation. Not legal advice.

These terms cover the Frutebox Force extension for Visual Studio Code and compatible editors, and the Frutebox Force plugin for JetBrains IDEs. Installing or using either means you accept them.

What you may do

Install and use the plugin on machines you control, for personal or commercial work, for as long as you hold a valid Frutebox account. Your code and your work stay yours — using the plugin gives Frutebox no ownership of anything you write with it.

What you may not do

The plugin is proprietary software and is not open source. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, sublicense, rent or publish it; decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer it, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded; remove or alter licence or attribution notices; or use it to build a competing product.

It talks to the Frutebox network

The plugin sends the prompts, file contents and command output you choose to share to Frutebox so a model can answer. That traffic is covered by the Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy. An API key identifies your account and is your responsibility to keep secret; the plugin stores it in your operating system's keychain and never writes it to a settings file.

It asks before it changes anything

The agent can propose file writes and shell commands, and every one of them requires your confirmation. There is no setting that disables that. You remain responsible for what you approve — review a proposed change before allowing it, exactly as you would a colleague's.

No warranty

The plugin is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Model output can be wrong, and generated code is not reviewed by anyone before it reaches you. To the fullest extent the law allows, Frutebox is not liable for loss of data, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the plugin. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Ending it

You may stop at any time by uninstalling. We may suspend or end your licence if these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy are breached. Uninstall the plugin when your licence ends.

Governing law

The law and courts stated in the Terms of Use apply to this licence too. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, your mandatory local rights are unaffected.
